About the Founders "To live a creative life, we must
lose our fear of being wrong." -
Joseph Chilton Pearce
Geoff Spencer and Scott Struthers were two guys who never
feared being wrong. While attending Principia College, they
discovered a similar passion for being resourceful and inventive.
During their junior and senior years, they realized Geoff's
"big picture" discipline and Scott's "go get-em"
attitude merged to create life more interesting for everyone
around them (a trait that holds true today). Their common
goal was to break from the norm - unimaginable, unrivaled,
and unprecedented.
This inventive duo constantly came up with "first ever"
experiences from the moment they first collaborated in the
early 80's. These risk takers applied their self taught knowledge
of speakers, physics, and marketing to campus parties, fundraisers,
and grant proposals. Geoff and Scott knew exactly where to
place the sound system for maximum effect. They understood
how to write a proposal to encourage the college to pay for
their personal projects. And they knew how to seek revenue
from local advertisers to support their party promotions.
Where there's a will, there's a way and these guys always
find a way to create inventive experiences.
Geoff and Scott take risks challenging everyday convention,
normal practices, and the conservative environment around
them. Before consumer satellite dish TV was considered an
everyday household item, Geoff and Scott built a satellite
receiver so their friends could get all the TV stations. They
poured the concrete slab, utilized their technology, and the
creation was picture perfect. Sure, it was hit by lightning
once a month, but there is no reward without risk.
